Teachers (Years 9-12)

Help students craft texts with an awareness of audience, purpose and context by using works in the NGV Collection to stimulate ideas. Use artworks to experiment with forms of writing including: a letter to the editor, opinion piece, blog post, diary entry, short story and script.

Duration: 1 hour

Learning Objectives:

  • Use artworks in the NGV Collection to generate individual ideas and experiment with language and different forms of writing
  • Develop strategies for writing with an awareness of audience, purpose and context
  • Discuss the ways that different ideas can influence the interpretation of selected NGV works
