Gain behind-the-scenes insights into French Impressionism from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

This program will address key knowledge and skills required for VCE Art Making and Exhibiting. Our panel of NGV experts provide insight into the preparation, presentation and conservation of artworks for a major exhibition.

Program speakers include Meg Slater, Curator, International Exhibition Projects, Catherine Earley, Senior Conservator for Exhibitions, and Annika Toohey, Exhibition Designer.

Students will:

  • Examine the curatorial considerations and thematic connections between artworks in French Impressionism from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston
  • Identify and analyse the presentation of artworks in the exhibition
  • Investigate, recognise and evaluate the methods used and considerations involved in the presentation, conservation and care of specific artworks
