Over the course of her seventy-year career, Helen Maudsley has developed a complex visual language of allegories and metaphors.

Two of her works, The journey and Artistic lady, are currently displayed at NGV Australia alongside works by her late husband, John Brack.

In conversation with NGV curator Beckett Rozentals, Helen Maudsley considers the context of these works from the 1950s and 1960s, and reflects on how this compares with John Brack’s work during the same period.
