What was life like for people thousands of years ago? How can we use primary sources to investigate their experiences? Travel back in time to ancient China using the NGV’s extraordinary Collection of objects and artworks. Join NGV educators to explore life and death in ancient China, and the roles and achievements of significant individuals from the time.

Learning Objectives 

  • Use primary sources from the NGV’s Collection to investigate significant beliefs, values and practices of people in ancient China
  • Examine the different methods and sources used by historians and archaeologists to investigate life and death in ancient China
  • Investigate the role and achievements of significant individuals in ancient China
  • Discuss the importance of preserving the remains and heritage of the past

This program is part of Creative Catalyst, a program for high ability students attending Victorian Government schools.
