Take your pencil on a drawing journey from primi pensieri (an artist’s initial thoughts) to modeli (finished drawings) with Educators from the NGV. Explore the Gallery’s European collection and use Italian language to interpret and respond to artworks along the way.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify and discuss how ideas are expressed in Italian artworks made in different historical contexts
  • Use Italian terminology to describe works of art
  • Follow simple and scaffolded instructions in Italian
  • Produce a series of drawings inspired by the work of Italian artists in the NGV Collection
