Melbourne‑based producer 10tendo and singer‑songwriter Annalisa Fernandez join forces to create a rich, genre‑spanning sound rooted in R&B and soul, with touches of disco and house.

Waxflower curates: Myles Mac

Myles Mac is a long‑time fixture of Melbourne’s underground dance community and a respected music selector and curator. With two decades of experience, his sets draw on a broad knowledge of music, blending classic influences with well‑chosen selections that have earned him a strong reputation both locally and overseas.

Waxflower curates: Circadian Rhythms

7–8.30pm

Commanding the stage with a blend of live electronics and improvisation, Circadian Rhythms combines hip hop, house, and jazz influences into a dynamic performance. Built on real‑time creation, their fully improvised sets evolve moment by moment, resulting in a hybrid experience that moves between club energy and exploratory live performance.

Waxflower curates: DJ Possum

8.30–10pm

DJ Possum is a familiar name in Melbourne’s underground, known for creating fun journeys on the dancefloor that keep the crowd moving. Her selections include R&B, UK street soul, downtempo, and house.

Waxflower curates: Olivia Escuyos

Olivia Escuyos is an independent Filipina artist from Melbourne’s northern suburbs, known for delivering engaging performances defined by her warm yet precise tone, with vocal layers rooted in R&B and soul.

Waxflower curates: DJ Earl Grey

With over a decade of experience sharing music professionally, DJ Earl Grey has built a reputation for his deep passion and dedication to the electronic music scene. Dynamic and highly versatile, DJ Earl Grey is known for his ability to navigate a diverse array of music that keeps the dancefloor energised all night long.

Waxflower curates: OJ Kush

7–8.30pm

OJ KUSH was formed to celebrate the unique and innovative experience that arises when musicians come together and exchange musical expression in the spirit of improvisation. Their sound is made up of multiple musicians, combining organic sounds with modern twists resulting in unique one-off performances.

Waxflower curates: Walter Majik

8.30–10pm

Walter Majik, also known as Jimmy, is resident DJ at Waxflower and one of the minds behind the venue’s music direction. A co‑founder of Kyoku Records, his sets draw from deep vinyl knowledge, weaving together 90s grooves and rare selections to create warm, worldly, late‑night dancefloor moments.

Melbourne International Jazz Festival Curates: Jon Hunt's Blue Devils

7–7.30pm, 8–8.30pm & 9–9.30pm

Jon Hunt’s Blue Devils are a Melbourne‑based band specialising in traditional and swing jazz. Led by reed player Jon Hunt, the group draws inspiration from 1920s and 30s jazz greats, delivering lively, classic performances shaped by Hunt’s extensive international touring and performing experience.

Melbourne International Jazz Festival Curates: Cannonball feat. Chantal Mitvalsky

Fronted by acclaimed vocalist Chantal Mitvalsky, and featuring some of Australia’s finest jazz musicians, Cannonball will captivate you with its blend of soulful classics, infused with jazz, blues & gospel, and cemented in a deep, infectious groove.

Melbourne International Jazz Festival Curates: Raleigh Williams

Showcasing a rich, expressive voice shaped by diverse musical influences, Raleigh Williams is one of Melbourne’s most in-demand vocalists. With extensive experience across Australia and internationally, she has built a strong reputation as a versatile session singer spanning jazz, soul, pop, country, classical and world music.

Melbourne International Jazz Festival Curates: Yunior Terry Quartet

7–7.30pm, 8–8.30pm & 9–9.30pm

Yunior Terry is a highly regarded bassist, known for his powerful sound, versatility, and strong rhythmic feel. Trained in both classical and jazz traditions, his performances draw on deep Cuban musical roots and international experience, bringing energy and precision to every setting.

Wax Museum Records Curates: Marley Del Prete

7–7.30pm, 8–8.30pm & 9–9.30pm

Marley Del Prete is a Melbourne‑based trumpeter exploring the space between spiritual and free jazz. Through his own releases and collaborations, he brings an open, expressive approach to performance, marking him as a distinctive and forward‑moving voice in the local Melbourne jazz scene.

Wax Museum Records Curates: Jerry

Jerry is a five-piece funk outfit known for their eclectic performance of jazz, spacey synth textures and nu-age disco, with a sound inspired by the context of the environment they perform within.

Wax Museum Records Curates: Brainwaves

Led by drummer, producer, and bandleader Ju’Suan, Brainwaves blends downtempo beats with live instrumentation and electronic textures. Built around community and artistic freedom, the project brings together musicians, visual artists, and audiences through improvised performances, where every session unfolds differently.

The Now Here This All-Star Band is a dynamic collective of elite improvisers known for crafting one-of-a-kind musical experiences. Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Curates: Hooked on Strings

Hooked on Strings is a dynamic and unique MSO ensemble bringing together a string trio, double bass, and musical theatre star to create immersive musical experiences that shimmer with elegance and imagination. Blending rich jazz influences and classical textures, their performances are shaped by lush harmonies, playful rhythms, and soulful improvisation, inspired by the brilliance of diamonds and the timeless beauty of fine jewels.

Melbourne ensemble PLEXUS brings together three of the city’s most versatile musicians – MSO violinist Monica Curro, MSO clarinettist Philip Arkinstall, and pianist–composer Stefan Cassomenos – to create bold and luminous musical experiences. Known for their commitment to new music and artistic collaboration, PLEXUS blends recently commissioned works with signature repertoire, crafting mellifluous melodies that sparkle and shine in harmony with dazzling icons from the Maison’s archive, in a celebration of exceptional craft.

Wax Museum Records

Wax Museum Records is a long‑standing Melbourne institution and a cornerstone of the city’s soulful underground music scene. With some of Melbourne’s most influential music figures behind the counter, Wax Museum Records continues to push the scene forward, nurturing local creative talent and acting as a focal point for the community. For Friday Nights, Wax Museum steps in as guest curator, presenting a line‑up drawn from its deep roots in jazz, soul, and Melbourne’s local music community.

Melbourne Symphony Orchestra

The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra residency for Friday Nights brings the glittering world of Cartier to life through sound. Curated by MSO musicians, the program places music in luminous dialogue with jewellery, design, and visual art, transforming the Great Hall into a living exhibition where classical works, contemporary music, and unexpected collaborations shine with elegance, imagination, and exquisite craft.
