NGV Friday Nights returns this summer during Keith Haring | Jean-Michel Basquiat: Crossing Lines, paying homage to the 1980s and New York downtown. Live DJs spotlight an 80s music moment each week, mixed in with drag performances, classic cocktails and New York City street food, ending with all out 80s tracks in the NGV Garden.

Keith Haring | Jean-Michel Basquiat: Crossing Lines presents the work of two of the most significant and influential artists of the late twentieth century, revealing fascinating insights into their unique visual languages and the many intersections between their lives, practices and ideas. KAWS: Companionship in the Age of Loneliness is not open during NGV Friday Nights.

80s Synth Pop | Emma Stevenson
Bringing the sounds of 80s synth pop to NGV Friday Nights, Emma Stevenson’s technically minded, student-of-the-game approach sees her unearth all kinds of 80s dancefloor sounds.

Political Thoughts | Exhibition Talk
NGV curator Pip Wallis considers a selection Haring and Basquiat’s works that address politics and looks at how both artists engaged with social and political issues of their time.

Sounds of the Street | Ge-Ology
An NYC resident during the 1980s, Ge-Ology’s dance floor set transports audiences back to the iconic city during its most fervent decade. A masterful music producer and exceptionally skilled DJ, Ge-Ology weaves diverse genres that seamlessly coalesce to bring dance floors to life.
