Whether you’re a beginner, a confident speaker, or a native Italian speaker, spend Saturday mornings in the NGV galleries in this four-week conversation club, facilitated by Italian educator Ginevra De Benedetti.
This series will be presented in Italian. All language levels are welcome.
Ginevra De Benedetti has worked in education for two decades across the primary, secondary, and university sectors in both private and public institutions, in Italy and Australia. Her expertise includes teaching, curriculum design, editing and publishing, as well as the literary translation between English and Italian. She has contributed to Italian language–based academic programs at university level and collaborated with the National Gallery of Victoria to develop educational activities for schools. She holds a master’s degree with honors in Arts and Conservation of Cultural Heritage from the University of Genova, Italy, and a CELTA teaching qualification from Cambridge University.
When is NGV Italia Art & Conversation Club?
The NGV Italia Art & Conversation Club will take place weekly on Saturday mornings from 8 – 29 November, with sessions running from 10am–11.30am.
Week 1 includes tea and coffee on arrival from 9.30am in the NGV Members Lounge providing an opportunity to meet your fellow attendees and introduce yourself.
What will the NGV Italia Art & Conversation Club involve?
This program blends art, conversation, and Italian language in a relaxed setting. Guided by an expert facilitator, participants will discuss selected Italian works from the NGV Collection and enjoy informal conversation in Italian with fellow attendees.
