Are you a high-school student looking for creative activities to boost your folios these holidays? Join us at one of our free drop-by drawing sessions held at NGV Australia, Fed Square.
Melbourne-based artist Jodie Di Natale will lead the drop-by drawing sessions in the Gallery surrounded by displays of paintings by Australian artists, many of whom trained in Europe at the turn of the 20th century. Characterised by superb colour, detailed imagery and symbolic motifs, these artworks relate to lazy spring days outdoors and mythological narratives. During the session, Jodie will explore the dreamy, pastel-hued paintings of artists such as Rupert Bunny and provide tips on how to hone skills in illustrating drapery, clouds and form.
You can choose to join a guided drawing session or drop by anytime between the hours of 12–3pm and create independently. No prior art-making experience necessary. Please note, this workshop is for secondary school-aged students only.
