Cultivate your curiosity and explore the secret world of Stonnington’s private gardens. Homemade preserves, cakes & biscuits, fresh produce and coffee along with raffle tickets will be available for purchase on the day.

Please note, this event is for pre-sale only. Ticket sales have closed. A red wristband was mailed to those who have purchased tickets. This must be worn to gain entry to the gardens.

Garden Notes and audio guide were emailed to ticket purchasers on Monday 21 October. These notes include the addresses and walking map for the gardens. For all enquiries regarding Garden Notes, Audio Guides or Wristbands, please contact 03 8662 1573 or womens.association@ngv.vic.gov.au.

Frequently Asked Questions

I have not yet received my entry wristband

Upon booking your tickets, please allow 3-5 working days for your entry wristband(s) to arrive. Entry wristbands will be posted to ticket purchasers and will be attached to an information letter. If you have purchased multiple tickets to Garden Day, you will be sent one (1) entry wristband per ticket purchased. Please note, an entry wristband is the only means of entry to the gardens on the day.
If you have not received your entry wristband, please contact the NGV on 03 8662 1573.

I purchased a ticket after 9 October, how do I collect my entry wristband?

For tickets purchased from 10 – 23 October, entry wristbands will need to be collected in person from the Information Desk on the ground floor at NGV International, 180 St Kilda Road.
For tickets purchased after 23 October, entry wristbands will need to be collected in person on 24 October at a location close to the gardens. Please contact the NGV on 03 8662 1573 for further details of where to collect your entry wristband on the day of the event.

Will tickets be available for sale at the gardens?

This event is available for pre-sale only and tickets will not be available for sale at the gardens. Ticket sales will close at 5pm on Wednesday 23 October unless sold out prior. For all ticketing enquiries, please contact the NGV on 03 8662 1573.

When will Garden Notes be sent?

Garden Notes will be emailed to all ticket purchasers on Monday 21 October. Please contact the NGV on 03 8662 1573 to update your email address before this date to ensure that you receive the Garden Notes.

What do the Garden Notes contain?

The Garden Notes will contain the address details for each garden, a map of the garden locations, details of amenities and stall locations, and further information about the gardens.
An Audio Tour will also be available for download. Please remember to bring earphones or headphones if you intend to use the Audio Tour as these will not be available at the event.

Will Garden Notes be available at the gardens?

No, printed Garden Notes will not be available at the gardens. We recommend that you print the notes before you arrive or view them on your mobile device.

Where are the gardens this year?

All gardens are in Stonnington and cover a round walking trip of less than 4 km. Tram #58 along Toorak Road and Bus route #605 provide some access but are not door to door.

Can I take photos at the gardens?

For privacy and security of the garden owners, photography of the houses is not permitted.

Are the gardens accessible?

The gardens are privately owned and therefore may not be fully accessible to wheelchairs, people with restricted mobility, prams, walkers or public transport. Some gardens have water features and swimming pools. The gardens are also all of varying size, and there will be capacity restrictions at one smaller garden on the day.
