Ground Level

Are you a senior interested in learning more about art, design and the NGV? Join our friendly NGV Guides in the Gallery each month for an hour of informal conversation about selected artworks and stay on for a cup of tea in the café to continue the discussion. We would love to hear your perspectives and questions as we engage with ideas, share insights, and discover fascinating layers of culture and history in artworks. No prior art knowledge or experience is required.

Join us this month to explore a rich mix of historic and contemporary works drawn from the NGV’s Collection of Australian art. Discuss how connections to place are expressed in different ways in art, and how artists have imagined and reflected on Australian identity, community and character throughout history.
