Under 5s engages children aged 2 – 5 years with art through lively online talks and a making activity.
Children will have fun together learning how to take turns to act out activities inspired by NGV Collection paintings such as dancing, driving a car or playing a musical instrument. Then, looking at paintings by International artists depicting people at work sewing, gardening or learning new skills, children can describe what they see and discuss how much easier it is to get big jobs done with the help of our friends!
Children will also learn about artworks that are made collaboratively by teams of artists and can then collaborate on a drawing activity taking turns to build on the work of others.
For Parents, Carers & Teachers
This program will encourage children to name the skills required to work collaboratively with others, to tell stories about teamwork and to practise listening and taking turns through participatory games.
