Dr John Yu

Dr John Yu is a retired pediatrician and hospital administrator who was born in Nanking, China, in 1934, and moved to Australia with his parents at three years of age. Throughout his career, he contributed significantly to medicine, education and the arts, and received the Australian of the Year award in 1996. This week, we team up with a guest presenter from the National Portrait Gallery to take a closer look at the way artist Ah Xian has portrayed this significant Australian in this unique ceramic bust.
