Innovators: Australian Design and Innovation is an exhibition that celebrates design and innovation from Australia. The exhibition will feature sixteen digital archives with iconic Australian innovations like wifi, the bionic ear, polymer notes, and innovators including Marc Newson, Susan Cohn, Michael Simcoe and Denton Corker Marshall. The theme of innovation is carried into the exhibition design through cloud based content using augmented reality. Curator Ian Wong collaborated with traditional Chinese artist Minghua Zhang, merging ancient Chinese craft with the latest lightweight metal 3D printing technology. The resulting 3D printed titanium Chinese seals (yang) are featured as the “trigger” for this sustainable and innovative interactive exhibition.
