Physical description
The handscroll depicts a profusion of a great variety of flowers. It is punctuated by flowers of the four seasons, peony or spring; lotus of summer; chrysanthemum of autumn; and plum blossoms of winter. The handscroll thus depicts the flowers of the four seasons moving from spring to winter.
