Draw attention to art! Explore new ways of seeing and making art by sketching in the gallery. Students build on their observational and technical skills, while getting to know the stories and ideas behind art and design in the NGV Collection.

Duration: 2 hours

Cost: $22 per student

Learning Objectives

  • Respond to and interpret artworks from different cultures and times in the NGV Collection.
  • Develop technical skills in drawing.
  • Apply observations from artworks in the NGV Collection to their own drawings and sketches.

This program is running in 2023. If you are interested in drawing in the Gallery in 2024, you might enjoy Draw Like an Italian Master.

    We require four weeks notice for all bookings.

    Changes to your booking must be made in writing. Changes can be made up to 14 days prior to your visit. Invoices will be sent prior to the visit. Full program fees will be incurred for late cancellations or amendments.

    Please provide details of any relevant themes and skills your students are learning about at school. While we cannot offer individually tailored programs, our museum educators will consider this information when selecting and discussing works of art during the program.
