Celebrated for his distinctly bold, high-end interiors, David Hicks’ name has become inextricably linked with modern Australian luxury.
Hicks’ interior space Panic Room, showcased in Rigg Design Prize 2018, is motivated by the saturation of media and culture in society today, which has meant homes have become fortresses we retreat to and places that are designed for not only comfort but self-protection.
In the first major presentation of contemporary interior design in the NGV’s history, the Rigg Design Prize 2018 brings together ten leading Australian interior designers and decorators to each create a purpose-built room at NGV International from 11 October 2018 until 24 February 2019.
