Open doors as culture calls you to unlock layers of artistry and invites you to discover the dynamic depths of a city with culture in its veins. In an exciting program spread over two nights, attendees are allowed rare and intimate access to evening art events as doors open after dark at ACMI, Art Centre Melbourne, Fed Square, Melbourne Museum, NGV Australia, NGV International and State Library of Victoria.

Follow your curiosities, explore our most iconic venues in a whole new light and experience our city at its creative and vibrant best. Melbourne, you know what to do.

Drawing on themes of community, joy and connection, both NGV International on St Kilda Road and NGV Australia at Federation Square will come to life after dark with free access for all to art, exhibitions, music, performance, bars and more.

6pm-1am: Ron Mueck’s MASS | Level 3

On display for the first time after being premiered at #NGVTriennial in 2017 — internationally acclaimed Australian artist Ron Mueck’s awe-inspiring work Mass is a poignant monument for our times. Activated throughout the night to engender moments of joy and contemplation, Mass celebrates the universally human form that links us all.

6-10pm: DJ set by Cliftonia | Ground Level

6:30pm & 7:30pm: Musical performances by Ronnie | Indigenous Art from The NGV Collection Exhibition Space, Ground Level

6-8pm: Drop-By Writing with Michelle Wright | Mass Exhibition Space, Level 3

9-11pm: Drop-By Drawing with Kenny Pittock | Who Are You: Australian Portraiture Exhibition Space, Level 3

10:30-11pm: Musical performance by Polyphonic Voices | Mass Exhibition Space, Level 3
