Great Hall
Ground Level

Tap into the spirit of creativity and community that Picasso and his peers embodied with these socially minded drop-by creative sessions that build upon the NGV’s popular Drop-by-Drawing series and take cues from popular techniques and creative mediums in his circle.

Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque are considered the first artists to use collage techniques in their visual art. Experiment with collage in this drop-in facilitated session inspired by the exhibition.

No experience required and materials are provided. Entry is free.

Facilitator
Melbourne Collage Assembly, was founded in 2018 by collage artists Kieran Madden & Simone Esterhuizen in a serendipitous meeting while both scouring the same market stall for print materials. Its current nine members all work with collage based techniques in their art practice and are emerging and established collage artists who have exhibited and published their work in Australia and internationally.
