EXHIBITION TIMES: 14–15 MAR, SAT–SUN, 10AM–6PM
Founded in 1975, The Fitzroy Housing Repair Advisory Service (FHRAS) was an architect-led community service providing free information, advice and referral on housing repair and building issues for those who could otherwise not afford it, while conserving at-risk housing stock in the ageing fabric of Fitzroy. At a time of significant social optimism and political participation, the FHRAS was a local response to a global movement of architectural activism and community empowerment. By revisiting the FHRAS, this exhibition explores the importance of architectural work beyond the creation of buildings through acts of care, repair and maintenance.

The event will include a talk with three founders of the FHRAS, Suzanne Dance, Peter Lovell and Peter Elliott on Saturday the 14th at 3pm.

This event is supported by the Yarra City Council’s Room to Create Program.
