This program takes place virtually

Share in a child’s early art experiences and discover artworks from the NGV together with online sessions designed for children aged 2 – 5 years and their parents or carers.

NGV exhibition, Big Weather reveals the intimate and sophisticated understanding of Country, weather systems and ecologies that exists within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural knowledge. The exhibition features diverse works from the NGV Indigenous Collection – from representations of ancestral spirit beings associated with rain, hail and storms that feed into our rivers, revive the landscape and nourish wildlife, to works highlighting the destructive impact of recent bushfires. Join Indigenous Art Curator Hannah Presley in a Big Weather discussion for Kids. Children can then try an art-making activity at home inspired by the exhibition using the Big Weather, Big Learning activity sheet.

Facilitated by Stephanie Pohlman, Youth and Families Coordinator, NGV Kids.
