This program takes place virtually

Spark the imagination, generate new ideas, and share thoughts in these lively online sessions about art for children aged 2 – 5 years and their parents and carers. In each session, children discover works of art from the NGV Collection and watch a demonstration of an art making activity that can be made at home or school using everyday materials.

This activity is suitable to join from home, kindergarten or playgroup. Groups are welcome to attend. Participation in the program’s chat function is encouraged.

Under 5s | Me and My Art
Young explorers embark on an exciting journey of self-discovery when they view artworks, play games and share their thoughts. In this program, young children can develop an understanding of themselves and others, recognising their likes, dislikes and understanding how we are all unique. The program will take inspiration from works in the NGV collection, looking at how artworks can be used to explore the theme of identity. This will be followed by a demonstration of an art-making activity which children can try at home or school using the Memory Chest activity sheet.

Recommended Equipment
So children can easily view the artwork and presenter on screen, we recommend using a large screen or computer to view the program. Alternatively, place your computer in a position where children can easily view.

An adult will need access to a keyboard to type children’s responses in the chat function.
