In each session, children discover works of art from the NGV Collection and watch a demonstration of an art making activity that can be made at home or school using everyday materials.

Under 5s | So Surreal!

Did you know that Picasso had a dog called Lump? Or that Salvador Dalí used to paint in the bathtub and Remedios Varo loved magic?

In celebration of the major all-ages exhibition, The Picasso Century and children’s exhibition Making Art: Imagine Everything is Real, children can discover the strange world of Surrealism through the art of Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí and Remedios Varo. Learn about the artists’ lives and their tips and tricks for igniting the imagination! Make your own surrealist artworks and experiment with chance to create something surprising and unexpected.
