Physical description
Full length silk ivory charmeuse with high stand up lace frilled collar, long fitted, ruched sleeves with lace inserts. The six gored skirt flares from the empire line forming a circular train. The front has a long lace insert, edged with cornelli work (appliqued cord) and four imitation buttons. The centre back bodice has twelve imitation buttons made from spiralling cord and the sleeves have four each. The back and sleeves are fastened by metal hooks. The skirt is lined with polished cotton.
