It is situated on the Australian Alps, near Mt. Livingstone. The bed of the River, / which is seen on the right-hand side of the picture, is one of the sources of the Mitchell River, which empties itself / in the Gipps Land Lakes. This Township is frequently covered with snow in winter time, owing to its being / several thousand feet above the level of the sea.
