Share in a child’s early art experiences and discover artworks from the NGV together with online sessions designed for children aged 2 – 5 years and their parents or carers.
Let’s go back in time to the Edo period in Japan where people played memory games with golden clam shells.
In this session, children practise counting and comparing while learning some of the stories behind traditional Japanese games from NGV exhibition Golden Shells and the Gentle Mastery of Japanese Lacquer and the NGV Collection. Children then watch an art-making demonstration so that they can create their own memory game using an NGV Kids activity sheet.
Facilitated by Stephanie Pohlman, Youth and Families Coordinator.
