Pharaoh For Primary Students

Mon–Fri, 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm
Levels 3–6
NGV International

Imagine being a pharaoh! What can we discover about these rulers through rare and original sculptures, jewellery, and hieroglyphs? Join an NGV Educator for an adventure through the lives and legacies of the kings of ancient Egypt. Students can discover objects from Pharaoh in an introductory talk to stimulate curiosity and spark discussion, then explore the exhibition and the extraordinary lives of the pharaohs.

Students will:

  • Identify ancient Egyptian objects and assess their importance in understanding the past.
  • Discuss what historic artefacts communicate about the people of ancient Egypt and their ideas, beliefs and values.
  • Describe how art and design can be used to express ideas.

Duration: 90 Minutes (30-minute introductory talk followed by one-hour self-guided viewing)

Cost: $29

Please note: The exhibition closes on 6 October 2024.
