The NGV offers a range of creative learning opportunities inspired by the NGV Collection and exhibitions.
We invite schools to stay connected with the NGV during this time through free virtual excursions for students and virtual professional learning programs for teachers. Please also check our online learning resources and virtual tours of exhibitions which can also be used in the classroom or at home.
To stay in touch and receive the latest updates, please subscribe to NGV Learn eNews. We invite you to follow along on social media, post and share inspiration and your own creative projects using #NGVEveryDay.
Add some art to learning. Creatively connect the NGV Collection with learning areas and capabilities across the curriculum. Bursting with practical projects, these resources are flexibly designed to support learning both in the Gallery and the classroom.
Bring the NGV Collection to life in the classroom and at home. These practical activities promote creative and critical thinking, visual literacy, and art making skills. Developed by teachers, Great art ideas are curriculum linked and include step-by-step instructions with photos of real examples.
Enrich and extend learning with the NGV. Creative Catalyst provides high ability students in levels 3–10 with creative and challenging opportunities across the curriculum. Inspired by the NGV Collection and exhibitions, the programs leverage international and Australian art and design as a catalyst for learning.
Creative Catalyst is part of the Victorian Challenge and Enrichment Series, an initiative of the Department of Education and Training (DET) that provides opportunities for high-ability students in Victorian government schools.See all
