Levels 7–12
NGV International & The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia

Discover one of Australia’s largest and most significant collections of art and design with your students. Join an NGV Educator to explore the Gallery and view art from different times, places and cultures. Through engaging activities and thought-provoking discussions, students will be encouraged to ask questions and consider diverse ideas, perspectives and art forms. Ideal for a first-time visit to the NGV, this program is designed to spark curiosity and imagination, build confidence in interpreting and responding to works of art, and expand students’ observational and analytical skills.

Students will:

  • Discuss and analyse artworks from different cultural, historical and contemporary contexts.
  • Identify and discuss how artists use materials, techniques, and technologies to express meaning in their work.
  • Identify the role and purpose of the visual arts in different communities, including the role of art museums.

For bookings at NGV International during Term 1 and early Term 2, this program will include works from NGV Triennial 2023.

Duration: 1 hour
Cost: $10.50 per student
