Pharaoh For Tertiary Students

Mon–Fri, 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm
Tertiary
NGV International

Explore over three thousand years of ancient Egyptian art and culture with an introduction to Pharaoh. In an interactive seminar with NGV Educators, students will analyse selected works from the exhibition and gain insight into the phenomenon of pharaoh and the complexity of kingship. Through close object study, students can evaluate how cultural artefacts can be used to identify different perspectives from the past, then explore the exhibition’s selection of over 500 exceptional objects.

Students will:

    • Analyse key works in Pharaoh to explore the underlying ideology of kingship in ancient Egypt.
    • Evaluate how historical objects can be used to identify different perspectives of people in ancient Egypt.

Duration: Two hours (50-minute introductory talk followed by one-hour self-guided viewing)

Cost: $46

Please note: The exhibition opens in June 2024.
