What was Picasso thinking when he painted a guitar as a series of fragmented shapes? Why did he often paint people in unusual colours, or jumble up their features? Learn all about the extraordinary life of Picasso and the many ingenious artists and thinkers that were part of his world throughout the twentieth century. This 45-minute introductory talk precedes self-guided entry to The Picasso Century and features engaging discussion and activities for Primary Students.

- Analyse and interpret themes, concepts and ideas in in artworks from The Picasso Century and discuss how they are expressed.
- Examine the creative dialogue between Picasso and other artists in The Picasso Century.

- Identify and connect elements of artworks in The Picasso Century to a wider historical, cultural and social context.
