View and discuss works that span Alexander McQueen’s career and delve into the designer’s creative process and innovative techniques. Learn about his sources of inspiration, ranging from historical events to the natural world, and the thought-provoking ways that McQueen could tell a story through his work. This program includes a 45-min introductory talk by an NGV Educator followed by a self-guided viewing of Alexander McQueen: Mind, Mythos, Muse.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Analyse and interpret themes, concepts, ideas and inspiration in McQueen’s work and discuss how they are expressed.
  • Identify McQueen’s creative process and use of materials, techniques and technologies in his designs.
