Go behind the scenes of Grace Crowley & Ralph Balson. Learn from our panel of NGV experts, who will provide insight into the preparation, presentation and conservation of artworks for an exhibition at the Gallery. Program speakers include Beckett Rozentals, (Curator of Australian Art) Jenny Kan, (Exhibition Designer) and Raye Collins (Conservator of Paintings). Bookings include an interactive tour of the exhibition with an NGV educator and time to explore other exhibitions at The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia independently, including Top Arts 2024 and Wurrdha Marra. Students are invited to come with questions for the speakers. 
Cost: $33
Duration: 4 Hours

Students will

  • Analyse how specific artworks are presented in Grace Crowley & Ralph Balson and discuss the curator’s intentions. 
  • Analyse and evaluate curatorial considerations, exhibition design involved in preparing and presenting specific artworks  
  • Analyse and evaluate methods and considerations involved in the conservation of specific artworks  

Booking Form

    We require four weeks notice for all bookings.

    Changes to your booking must be made in writing. Changes can be made up to 14 days prior to your visit. Invoices will be sent prior to the visit. Full program fees will be incurred for late cancellations or amendments.

    Please note that this is a booking request only. You will receive a confirmation via email within 5 working days.
