Spend your school holidays developing new skills, meeting like-minded peers, and getting to know one of Melbourne’s deadliest artists. Learn how street art has influenced many contemporary Indigenous artists and how to create your own stencils in this workshop for people aged 13-17 years.
Artist and Facilitator Josh Muir is a Melbourne-based artist. He identifies as being of Yorta Yorta, Gunditjmara, Dja Dja Wurrung, Wada Wurrung and Barkindji descent. Josh explores his personal history and cultural heritage through his vibrant art, including his animated work Still here, which was projected onto the façade of NGV International for the 2016 White Night festival.

Djirri Djirri Dance Group perform a contemporary interpretation of their culture informed by traditional dance, ceremony and song inside From Bark to Neon: Indigenous Art From the NGV Collection.
Djirri Djirri Dance Group are a Wurundjeri women and girls dance group. Djirri Djirri means Willy Wagtail in Woiwurrung, the language of the Wurundjeri people, and is a little black dancing bird.
All of their dances have a story about Creation, family and Country and accompanying songs are all in Woiwurrung. Djirri Djirri Dance Group, with members of the Wurundjeri community, formed officially in 2013, after being part of other mixed dance groups.
